Its early in the afternoon and I’ve just stepped off a 5.5 hour flight, which is nothing to moan about when thrown around comparatively to the day-long treks taken by international visitors to arrive in Bali. I did however wake at 4:30 am in order to make my first flight, a 6:00am flight out of Tasmania, followed by the 9:00am departure to Bali, Indonesia. A doable 8-9 hours of flying later, I’m welcomed to Bali’s chaotic Denpasar International Airport by a representative of the Four Seasons Sayan, a health and wellbeing retreat neatly tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Bali.
Four Seasons Ubud
After a 1.5 hour drive north into the depths of Bali, we find ourselves at theFour Seasons Sayan – a tranquil oasis nestled inside the lush greenery that is Ubud.
If when you think of Bali you imagine rolling hills of rice fields, smiling local Balinese people and yoga in the late afternoons… then you have thought of Ubud. Located in the uphills of Bali and far secluded from the hustle and bustle of tourist favourites Seminyak and Kuta, Ubud feels a world away from the Bintang branded clothing and speeding scooters.
It is here where you can enjoy an abundance of tranquility, calmness, and of course, take the time to hone in on your health and wellbeing. The Four Seasons Sayan have a strong focus on providing guests with a wellbeing getaway – including great food at the Riverside Cafe, yoga and meditation classes throughout the day, and lets not forget the private accommodation offered to each of the 60 villas, each surrounded be greenery to ensure seclusion.
